In January, I was assigned to start a research paper on 'whatever I wanted within Byzantine art.' Naturally, I chose to do what I always do for my Art History papers--find out what the ladies were up to! So I wrote on Byzantine women's dress and jewelry. I know, it was s0o0o0o0o hard. I had to look at bracelets, and earrings, and mosaics of women covered in pearls wearing pretty dresses.
What made the paper even more exciting was that subject matter allowed me to integrate my favorite designers, Dolce & Gabbana's Fall/Winter 2013 collection into the paper. In my opinion, no one compares to these two when it comes to Italian inspired fashion. So many of their collections remind of me being at my grandparent's house-- their paintings, dishes, tablecloths and knick-knacks-- it all is inspired by Italy. Dolce and Gabbana's emphasis on the strength and heritage of the Italian woman is so inspiring. It is obvious that their Fall/Winter 2013 season continues to influence their new collections each year. I strongly believe that the famed designers are titans when it comes to creativity, innovation and stand-out style.
